In 1969, Yoko Ono and John Lennon invited the public to join their honeymoon as it unfolded in a Montréal bedroom, complete with a song-writing session with Timothy Leary. This was the start of the couples’ iconic bed-in series, and a showcase for what would become one of Ono’s favorite concepts: Peace. Today being the International Day of Peace, Ono isn’t missing her cue. Art Production Fund and Ono’s anti-frackingImagine Peace initiative have arranged to broadcast the words “Imagine Peace” hourly across the three largest screens in Times Square all day today, through an initiative by the Times Square Alliance public art program.
